GAS linear motor axes are characterized by very high repeat accuracy, short cycle times, modularity and very low energy consumption. The maximum load and low noise are also key benefits in industrial environments.
GAS Automation offers a modular system of linear motor axes and torque motor axes. These axes enable users to construct various axis configurations and Cartesian robots according to their particular needs. A further linear motor axis has now been added to the modular system. The aim was to develop a linear motor axis with a level of torsional and bending strength that was previously only achievable by combining two GAS linear motor axes. To make this possible, the familiar GAS profile was widened from 55 mm to 215 mm and an optimum cross-section in terms of mass and rigidity was identified using the finite element method. The new linear motor axes LD 200 T to LD 1800 T can handle useful loads of up to 50 kg and stroke lengths of up to 2300 mm. The rated forces are between 200 N and 1800 N.
